I have heard enough through the media about the Toyota recall and the controversy surrounding it all. I have concluded that Toyota is being intentionally smeared by a certain political party and its mainstream allies. I’m of course talking about the Democrats. I’m 57 years old. Down through the years have heard of a good number of American car manufactures as well as European car companies having to engage in product recalls. This is nothing new. Now Toyota is involved in a recall, it is the end of the world! I do not own a Toyota at this time but when the time comes for a new truck or car I will seriously consider one. I reject being manipulated by the government and media when making buying decisions.
It is very suspicious when the Obama administration and his media lackeys join together to attack Toyota when considering that GM and Chrysler is now under the domination of the government. How self serving! I don’t buy it! Their ulterior motives are obvious. I believe Toyota needs to fight back and win public opinion. Toyota has been around for many years and has built many fine products. Their track record should prove who is on the right side of this PR battle. Hang tough Toyota!

Yes. Going to the dealership I bought my new 2010 from tomorrow and demanding they take it back. I want a full refund. Why would I want to invest 30,000 in a 2010 vehicle that has already lost resale value in Feb/2010???

Not only will the brand name be tarnished but I will never buy a car from the dealer from which I have purchased
Two cars from in the past. I read what some dealers are doing to help customer with the recall. I was told that my 2009 Camry XLE would have wait repair until I received recall letter. Dealer made no effort to contact customers and refused to return calls from local paper.

Honestly I am not surprised at Toyota and these problems. In the past as a car salesman I would research all makes and models to be a better salesman for my customers. While doing this research I came across a really good website. www.safercar.gov is run my the NHSTB and will show recalls and crash test ratings. Having two boys I wanted the safest cars for my wife and I to drive. I can say that owning 7 Fords I have only had one problem. I bought a 2006 Ford Mustang 5 speed. I had an issue getting into second gear. I knew what the problem was so I was not upset. A syncro went bad which is no big deal. Without any arguing the dealer fixed in within a matter of days. The fact is that Consumer Reports would just give Toyota a preferred rating cause it is a Toyota. However if you do your research the gas pedal has been an issue for several years now. Finally the NHSTB is looking into Toyota and I am sure more bad news is on its way. You can buy a Ford or Chevy and get a quality vehicle that you can be proud of.

I am the owner of a 2008 Toyota Camry. I have been complaining to my local dealership of problems with my vehicle. I was contacted on 13 February 2010 to bring my vehicle in to have the recall repairs fixed.

On 28 January 2010, I was involved in an accident where I was unable to slow or stop my acceleration into an inclined merge. This resulted in an accident, a serious injury to me and lost time from my job. As a single parent, safety has always been my utmost priority when purchasing vehicles. My purchase of a Toyota vehicle was based on this primary principle. At this time, I have graves concerns with the safety of my car regardless of fixes in place to correct any problems. What is Toyota doing about customers such as myself? I am terrified to drive my car or have my children ride with me. What am I suppose to do now? Accept that Toyota has solved the problems? Continue driving the vehicle even AFTER I have suffered the consequences of their failed engineering designs? As a consumer, and parent, I want a better resolution!

Approx 98% of Toyota owners will not be critical of Toyota. If both rear wheels were falling off, these owners would still buy Toyota. I owned a Toyota and it was a good but not perfect car. US regulators have shielded Toyota for years. Six months from now this will be old news.

Toyota has a big problem on their hands because they quit listening to customers and quality control people and only listened to their lawyers. What is Toyota going to give me for the time that I must spend sitting around at a dealership that can never meet repair schedules and could care less.

Hi. Just would like to put my Input on the TOYOTA RECALL SITUATION!
I have had 3 toyota cars and I would continue to buy them. I had 2 when I lived in california, I drove it and both my kids drove it. It got so many miles on it, I wanted to trade it in for a new on. I had that one for about 6 years, then moved to colorado and we thought we would need a 4 wheel drive, so traded the toyota in for a Yukon 4 wheel drive. had it for 2 years and decided I missed the toyota and went and bought another one and 5 years later I am still driving it and I LOVE IT!
I have never had better service with any other dealer and I will never drive anything else. They stand by their product and they are as human as you and I. so give them a break!
Oh and I didn't tell you, my son had a toyota truck when he was 17. had 4 accidents with it and toyota did the repairs, he traded it in on a new one after over 300,000 miles and thats no joke. We got a recall on the first toyota, took it in and they fixed the problem, no charge to me. Now that is service, concern and dedicated dealership that I have never encountered before. so before you start judging them, think about what they are trying to do now to solve the problems. GIVE THEM A BREAK!!!!!!!

Sincerely:
A Colorado Resident

It was impacted before the recall but now it is in the tank. My 2008 Avalon Limited's "quality" is way below my 2001 Avalon. I will not buy another based on the slide. The paint job is pathetic. I am very disappointed and have been since I bought it. Toyota got complacent. They stopped improving. I will be getting rid of this car soon. I have yet to get notification in the mail regarding the recall, they really only care about profit it seems. Lip service and bowing does not fix problems and create a feeling of wanting to try their product again anytime soon.

The TV and papers are having a field day.
Toyota have held their hand up and admitted problem.
I am assured other Manufacturers use the same parts, come on the rest of you get your hands up !
Toyota has always been the car in front even at putting their hand up.
Why not visit the Government car recalls site for your make/model.
Vehicle recalls Toyota not neary the worst.

MY HUSBAND AND I LEASED A TOYOTA COROLLA DEC.15, 2009 AT MOLLE TOYOTA, KC, MO.OUR SECOND LEASE WITH THIS DEALER. WHEN WE HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL WE CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED US TO DRIVE THE CAR AND THEY WOULD SEND A LETTER IN THE MAIL TO ADVISE US ON WHEN THEY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM.I AM SO SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND I EVEN HAVE TROUBLE SLEEPING. I HAVE NIGHTMARES OF DRIVING OFF A BRIDGE AND NOT ABLE TO STOP. I THINK THAT TOYOTA DROPPED THE BALL BY NOT LETTING THIER CUSTOMERS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT AIRED ON THE NEWS, SHOWING CARS THAT WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND IN SOME CASES A DEATH OCCURED.WE WILL NOT LEASE A TOYOTA EVER AGAIN.
WE HAVE LOST ALL FAITH I TOYOTA AND IN THE DEALERSHIP WE TRUSTED.

Well, for me it's the last straw. Never again will I consider a Toyota product as long as this poor judgment and total lack of accountability is a part of their agenda. This stop sales order wasn't even a voluntary one. I know for a fact, that Honda or GM would've done this voluntarily. Both of those companies DID, recently. Honda's issue was a fire hazard in their Fit, and GM had a defroster issue in the Equinox and Terrain crossovers, not lethal by itself, but even so.
Totally unacceptable to react so slowly to provide a fix, all for the almighty dollar.

For those of you that may be wondering why no Lexus models are affected by thus, the ES 350 is. It's probably not listed because it's the same thing as a Camry.

Up until now, I was doing a fairly good job of being patient with Toyota, considering that my 2009 Corolla is the only car I have. But when I found out just a few moments ago that the "fix" would be sent to the manufacturers first, not the dealers (who could then fix this mess), I went ballistic. I'll never buy another Toyota. They have lost my confidence.
